Type Specimen Booklet

For this project, a type specimen booklet was created to sell the typeface ‘Baskerville’. My role was to create a booklet that shows the importance and elegance of the typeface. In order to sell the typeface, I created pages of designs using the typeface Baskerville and emphasize its beauty.

Design Process

Research

For the research process, I made sure I understood the audience for the product and understood the aesthetic of the typeface. I researched many different design outlines and ideas.

Testing Out Color Scheme

For the color scheme, colors that were more professional looking and that matched a specific aesthetic were looked at. I needed to decide which 3-4 colors would match well with the same theme as the typeface. I chose this yellow and red along with black and variations of the shade.

Compositions

2 different compositions were created with different outlines, placements, and different colors. Each had a different design and did not look similar, but all matched the aesthetic. After getting feedback on the designs, the best pages were chosen and I continued to move forward and improve the designs.
